MABA Award Ceremony 2017
The 2017 MABA Winning book is
The winning book of MABA 2017 was announced at the award ceremony. The votes had been counted and verified and the winning title had been placed inside the gold envelope ready for the day! The winning book (the favourite from all of the schools) was ‘We Are All Made Of Molecules’ by Susin Nielson. The competition was extremely close this year, and all of the books were enjoyed by many students! The selection of books had proved to be very popular and we can recommend them all!
The Award Ceremony
The MABA Award Ceremony took place at Maidstone Grammar School for Girls on Thursday 11th May.
The MGGS reading group was joined by reading groups from Valley Park School, Maidstone Grammar School, The Holmesdale School and Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School for the ceremony. Polly Ho-Yen, author of Boy in the Tower, came to talk to the students about her creative writing process and the inspiration behind her books – an invasion of slugs and soggy school broccoli! Polly was an inspirational speaker, who provided many tips for any future writers! The ceremony was enjoyed by all who attended.
